A sustainability aficionado, Swathi has been actively working on human intervention to reduce the impacts of climate change. She started her career in India as an architect working with bioclimatic architecture, moved on to being a sustainability consultant in the UK, and continued to research on energy-efficiency, carbon emissions and sustainable built environments while in the Netherlands. She has presented research papers and posters at multiple conferences across Europe and is well-versed with the global nature of the climate crisis.
The food crisis in her home state of Kerala, during the devastating floods of 2018, inspired her to make change in sustainable food systems. Seeing the LECO technology being used in the health, hospitality and laboratory sectors in India by Dr. Syriac Palackal (www.panlys.com ), sparked the idea of using the same to protect food and reduce food loss. The concept of TechniFris grew from this spark.

One of the earliest food technologists in India, he is the President of the Association of Food Scientists & Technologists (Kerala, India), ex-dean of Kerala Agricultural University, and has been a Professor and Dean at food & fishery universities in India, Ireland, Belgium, and Eritrea. He has published 4 books and 21 papers regarding food technology.
